PRACTICE & TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
Practice times are listed below for Blooming Prairie and Hayfield. Tournament information, schedule changes, reminders, and other season updates will be posted through Wrestling IQ. Wrestlers are encouraged to participate in tournaments throughout the season, and elementary wrestlers are expected to participate in the Westfield Razorbacks Youth Tournament. Families should check Wrestling IQ regularly throughout the season.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE
Practices are divided into two groups: Pre-K–2nd grade and 3rd–6th grade. Each group practices at its scheduled time, with age-appropriate instruction focused on developing wrestling fundamentals, skills, and confidence.
Blooming Prairie: Pre-K through 2nd grade trains on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:15 PM. Grades 3 through 6 practice from 6:15 to 7:30 PM.
Hayfield: Pre-K through 2nd grade trains on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 to 6:30 PM. Grades 3 through 6 practice from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
Every session emphasizes wrestling fundamentals, stance, motion, takedowns, escapes, live wrestling, and teamwork.
Any practice cancellations or schedule changes will be communicated through Wrestling IQ. Families should check the app regularly for the most current information.
Tournaments and competition
Tournament participation is strongly encouraged because it gives wrestlers valuable mat time, builds confidence, and allows them to use the skills they learn in practice.
We strongly encourage wrestlers to participate in as many tournaments as possible throughout the season. Elementary wrestlers are expected to participate in the Westfield Razorback Youth Tournament on Saturday, December 5, 2026.
There are many youth tournaments held throughout the surrounding area during the season. Tournament information and important updates will be shared through Wrestling IQ.
What to Wear & Bring
Wrestlers should come to practice dressed and ready to wrestle. We strongly encourage wrestlers to wear a long-sleeved athletic shirt and athletic pants to help protect their skin while on the mat. Wrestlers should also bring wrestling shoes to practice.
Each registered wrestler will receive a Westfield Razorbacks singlet and practice T-shirt. Singlets are worn for tournaments and meets, not regular practices.
Parents should regularly check Wrestling IQ for practice updates, tournament information, schedule changes, and other important club announcements throughout the season.
